Tensoft Announces MyTensoftFSM, the First End-to-End Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Solution for the Fabless Industry
Axiom Microdevices Invests in the New Service to Run its Fabless Operations
SAN JOSE, CA – November 14, 2007 — Tensoft, a leading end-to-end ERP solution provider for the fabless semiconductor industry, announced today MyTensoftFSM, the first end-to-end Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering for the fabless industry. Signing on as one of the new on-demand hosted system’s first customers is Axiom Microdevices, Inc., provider of the world’s only fully integrated complementary metal oxide semiconductor power amplifiers (CMOS PA) for mobile handsets.
Provided as a managed service offering in a high-availability environment, MyTensoftFSM enables fabless semiconductor customers to run their accounting and financial, customer service, operations, production control and planning activities all on one turnkey system. The administration, set-up and management of the systems to provide it are all part of the MyTensoftFSM service. The solution addresses the needs of growing companies, including pre-revenue start-ups, and helps them avoid a costly solution environment made up of disparate and poorly connected applications. Ease of use, rapid deployment, limited upfront investment, plus the advantages of reduced software management responsibility combine to make MyTensoftFSM a winning solution in the fabless industry.
“A single server location for all applications is critical for the efficient delivery of a ‘true’ end-to-end SaaS solution. If your accounting and financial application is on one server, and your operations management application is at another location, the potential for problems increases dramatically, and efficiency goes out the window,” said Tensoft CEO, Bob Scarborough. “Getting up and running on MyTensoftFSM is as easy as saying, ‘I want to get the service started with X users.’ Fabless customers can set access levels for their employees, based on responsibilities and permission levels, but that’s really the extent of the management that they need to worry about. And maintenance is built into the MyTensoftFSM contract, so that’s taken care of as well.
“The ownership of software in and of itself is not really what companies want today,” Scarborough continues. “What they want is superb operational software that is maintained and running on a secure environment. Our customers, like Axiom Microdevices, are enthusiastic about the possibilities for greater productivity and lower cost that this model offers.”
“During this critical stage in Axiom Microdevices’ growth, we see great value in the SaaS model, which delivers online functionality via subscription licensing,” said Gary Cheek, VP Operations, Axiom Microdevices. “The choice of service providers is equally important. Tensoft has gone out of their way during and after our implementation to support my team.”
“Our evaluation of the available options identified Tensoft as the one provider who could deliver end-to-end functionality including production control, operations planning, general accounting, production costing, and customer service — all in a single seamless solution,” said Bruce Warren, VP & CFO, Axiom Microdevices. “The advantage of this approach is that it will give management access to critical information across the organization, in a system that will scale with our business. The delivery of the entire system by one solution provider and the low upfront investment required made MyTensoftFSM a no-brainer for us,” he added.
